rDataDAO leverages advanced blockchain technology to create a secure and efficient data economy. rDataDAO is built on an early testnet version of Vana (www.vana.org), the first network for user-owned data. Built as a layer one blockchain, Vana is designed to handle private user-owned data, allowing users to collectively own, govern, and earn from AI models trained on their data.

At its core, Vana supports data liquidity through a concept called Proof of Contribution, which verifies the value of individual data contributions. This ensures that the data uploaded to the DAO is accurately valued and that contributors are fairly compensated. The Vana network provides a secure enclave for the use and control of our data, with all transactions and interactions being transparent and verifiable.

The data, consensus, and application layers of rDataDAO are built on Vana's infrastructure, which specifically supports secure compute, allowing users to utilize their data without compromising its value. This means that data contributors can benefit from AI models and other applications while maintaining control and privacy over the commercial value fo their data.

The economic infrastructure of rDataDAO currently operates on Base, with plans to harmonize the two systems. This dual infrastructure ensures that while the VANA network handles data security and integrity, Base drives commercial incentives and economic activities.
